viflow is unable to display asian or russian character. They are only displayed in the Microsoft Visio prcess graphic.
viflow is a non-Unicode program. To activate the support for wide character font, the language for non-Unicode programs in Windows must be changed.
1. Open the Windows Control Panel and select "Region"
3. In the Region settings is a Tab called "Administrative". There you can change the language for non-Unicode programs.
4. Start viflow
If its not possible to see all characters correctly in viflow (you can see between the correct characters a ? instead of the correct character) then the Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Common Controls have to be installed. Always install the English version, regardless of the system language.
After installing and restarting the system, all characters will now be displayed correctly.
On non-Chinese systems, a key must be added to the Windows registry to prevent a viflow 6 security feature from deleting single Chinese characters. This function is automatically deactivated on purely Chinese systems.
You have to deactivate it manually on your system.
This is done under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/VB and VBA Program Settings/Vicon/ViFlow/060/ViFlow.
Create a new string called DisableXMLCorrection and set the value to 1.
